November 28, 2007
The final vote was Yeas 398, Nays 21 and with that announcement on the floor of the House of Representatives, the motion was forwarded to the U.S. Senate in a rapid manner. The date was November 3, 2011 and the legislation was on the fast track to pass both houses and to be signed by Madame President the moment it hit her desk. The business community lobbied hard but considering the economic conditions drastic action was necessary. The newspapers blared the headlines the next morning of “End of the Reserve System” and “Death of the Fed” but the truth was it was the end of an era where the Federal Reserve system was dissolved and a return to the concept of the U.S. National Banking System. This vote though did little to stimulate the equity markets nor inspire confidence in the failing U.S. Dollar. Inflation was running at an annualized rate of 71.5% despite the use of hedonic calculations to smooth the numbers out. The dollar had lost fifty percent of it’s value since 2008 and the world would no longer accept it as the reserve currency of choice. Much to the dismay of most Americans, we were past the point of no return and the National Banking Act was needed to accommodate the introduction of the new trans-national regional currency. It was hoped that by creating a multi-national North American currency the inflation rate would moderate. Sadly, the average household had no idea what this would really mean…..
The section above of course, is pure fiction. But just what is the impact on the average household? That’s the question I’m going to attempt to guess at today and offer the “why” as to how today’s economic news is so critical to everyone and how ignoring it is at your own peril. So what would the real inflation rate be if the hedonically adjusted rate is around 71%? Based on the current ratio of about 5-1 this would put the real inflation rate in excess of 350% annually. Think about that folks. That’s almost 30% inflation per month or 1% price increases daily. Sound far fetched? Not in my book. We’ve all seen daily price inflation when your local gas stations increase prices from $2.69 to $2.73 in one day, then from there to $2.79 the next. Despite the protestations of the media, that’s inflation. The price you are paying for a good or service. And if you start applying it to reality and look at everything you consume to survive, then you realize that the impact of inflation on your household is serious and forces changes in your lifestyle. The mainstream media and popular financial media wants you to think your income has increased to accommodate the changes in prices but you know better. The BLS has a fascinating statistic which shows that real wages since 1981 for households with incomes under $100,000 (that’s most of us average folks gang) have actually decreased by just over 3% since 1981. This means that since the last great inflation, the increases in prices over the last 27 years has gnawed into your earning power and basically leaves you in a negative cash flow to maintain your lifestyle unless you change the way your family manages it’s affairs.
The impact of today’s economic news is never felt overnight by any one American household unless they are playing the grand casino on Wall Street and depend on that for their income. The real problem most Americans are starting to notice is the absolute decimation of the one asset they perceive as a safe and stable investment because that is what they have been taught over the years; their homes. The problem is that “homes” are just tools. And extracting equity out of a home to purchase goodies and “pay” bills off has been demonstrated as not just foolishness, but dangerous. Your home as a tool provides shelter, but the “investment value” is not determined any longer by normal supply-demand economics. It is managed by the government and those who wish to create value in other areas which may positively or negatively impact your little slice of heaven. When you realize that a “home” is not an investment, but a place to sleep, eat and provide protection from the elements you’ll understand why the crisis in real estate could have been avoided. And you’ll understand the economic myths that you were taught as a child are now being pierced by the hard reality hitting our shores. There was a lifelong perception that life will move on just like Mom and Dad’s, where corporations would demonstrate life long loyalty to the American ideal and you had a job from cradle to grave if you just did an acceptable job to earn your wages. That myth is being destroyed now by the new world plan for the redistribution of wealth and resources under the concept of inclusiveness which forces a political stability on to the world scene by imposing interdependency as a precondition for economic success. That myth is about to be exposed as not only dangerous, but foolish.
The great powers that be thought that by re-introducing an eighty year old plus concept where corporatism and fascism were merged, a new oligarchy of socio-economic power would guarantee “peace in our time” as is the ultimate desire for all of those in control. With a relatively stable and peaceful world, the imposition of draconian political policies would be difficult unless one group, or society was brought up economically and others degraded from first world to second world status via the introduction of socialism. The profit margins would increase dramatically for all of the corporations who enhanced the power base of the political party and vice-versa. By using social discontent to force internal economic changes, the ultimate goal of political power and control over every aspect of a society could be either introduced or enhanced depending on the nation involved. America is now at that point. I would say that the point in time we are at is the “Chinazation” of our society where we will degrade our economic and political status to impose changes which brings our standard of living and political system in line with a one world government plan. The initial introduction of regional political and economic blocs is the key to this plan and with the ASEAN nations announcing their desires to create such a bloc last night, it’s only a matter of breaking our system down completely to create the political will to modify our Constitution to save “our way of life” as the political elites will describe it. In reality, it will be the suborning of our past and an introduction to Marxist slavery for our future. We will willingly march forward to accept the plan as the shortages begin to impact every aspect of our lives and create an air of desperation to take care of the “children” and “elderly” in the future.
Thus the premise of the brief piece of fiction above. The Federal Reserve System was created to prevent drastic changes in our economic landscape and to accommodate those with huge amounts of economic and political power to maintain the status quo. For almost one hundred years, it can be called a success, but only in the mythical sense of the word. It introduced the political system we have today, abused by not just corporatists but the by the elitists who think they can “design” a better America instead of protecting the idealism of Jefferson and Hamilton. The ultimate goal of all who desire an oligarchy is to eliminate all competition while maintaining the appearance of open and free markets. This approach is the same in politics as well and desperation breeds the basis of a fascistic foundation for the future. As the American public is broken down economically the will to resist the imposition of socialist idealism will falter as the majority always rules, even as they fly over the edge of the cliff and take our nation with them. By eliminating the Fed in the future, the political and economic elites will have the ability to create a new system which manages every aspect of your life and mine while altering the original intent of our Founding Fathers. This is neither a defense of the Federal Reserve System nor endorsement for their policies mind you. The original intent of the founding fathers was quite clear and we have deviated from this path which puts us where we are today.
Once a political power has the ability to use it’s economic partners to control the level of hunger in your belly, they have the power to modify your desires for what’s important in your life. This is why you must pay attention to the economic landscape that is changing in front of your eyes and start to plan for the prospects of a very bleak future over the next twenty years. The statement “it can’t happen here” has been the warning out over the years and the truth is that it can and is happening before your very eyes. And the demonstration of the test case for an economic oligarchy with a political one was tested and almost successful if not for the insanity that absolute power breeds. Germany and Italy were the test beds and capitalism was proclaimed as the “freedom” the citizens enjoyed there. The systems were neither free nor capitalistic in their approaches, but the corporatist idealists maintained that façade even though they found that by cooperating and working with the political oligarchy they held absolute control over pricing and trade. Their lessons have been learned well not just by the modern American corporate world, but the new test bed, in Communist China is progressing quite well. Now America, the once great land which saved the world from these systems, will be tested on the idea of imposing this system in reverse. May God have no mercy on these souls which seek to destroy our society. As there is no mercy in a Marxist system and there is no freedom no matter what the propaganda the media spouts out as so. The choices are obvious and simple. You must prepare now.

Mr. Drew Raines the host of “The American Disquisition” program on the American Voice Radio Network (AVRN) was kind enough to invite me on his program to discuss the current events we are facing in this declining empire we know as America. I will be focusing on the economic trigger which will be used to shred the Constitution and what the impact will be not just on Mr. and Mrs. Main Street, but especially on the retirement community who will be held hostage to the socialistic practices of a government gone wild.

So “decreasers” isn’t a word, so what? I took the liberty of using what I have elected to call the “Quayle Rule” in honor of my friend Steve Quayle who has a talented knack for creating just the right word for just the right occasion. And this occasion is what you might be asking yourself? If you’ve been paying attention to your wallet, your life and your job the last year or so, you’ll realize that there are aspects of our society and economy that are increasing in value and influence and decreasing. Thus with the Thanksgiving holidays now over and the start of the “what lies can we concoct to get folks to buy stock for Christmas presents” season, I present to you my projections for those things, people and problems which will impact our nation either way.
Increaser:
Gold. Silver. Platinum. Palladium. Petroleum. Agricultural products. Jim Rogers was on to something in 2006 when he warned that food prices were about to skyrocket and that inflation in necessities was going to impact our society. Well add that and the sudden demand for everything that has an intrinsic value or use and the apparent war preparations well under way in Russia and China, and you have no reason to doubt that everything in this list is going to continue to rocket skywards in value. My not so off the wall take: Gold will top $1000 per ounce earlier in 2008 than most have projected.
Decreaser:
The U.S. dollar. There is nothing I can see that will add value, desire or usefulness to this debt laden instrument of digital destruction. The US Dollar should continue to decrease in value as we export our inflationary practices around the world unless everyone else goes stupid and desires to follow our own suicidal tendencies and implode their own currencies also.
Increaser:
Baskets. No, not wicker or wire, but currency baskets. It seems that we are about to have a nexus, or paradigm shift in the last gasp effort to preserve the concept of fiat currencies and those nations with the resources be they oil or mineral are going to follow the lead of the Russians and Arabs on this issue. Once those nations shift to currency baskets with the Euro being the lead currency or combined baskets where fiat currencies and natural resources are used to value their own denominations, smaller resource rich nations will follow suit.
Decreaser:
Fiat currencies pegged to the dollar. There are many nations that have elected to peg their currencies to the dollar. Once the basket concept catches on, those nations will have to do the same thing or watch their holdings crash and burn. If the Arab states elect to go to a currency basket for their nations, look for them to tip off the Chinese first so they can initiate the move and protect what’s left of their dollar assets. It will be followed by Russia and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in short order. The House of Saud will act last so it will appear they are not initiating a currency attack on the United States and our still our “buddies” in the region.
Increaser:
The rising tide of Islamism and Socialism in Latin America. Despite the dismissal of the influences of Chavez and Ortega to our south, the importation of hundreds of millions of dollars in missionary aid and armament into the Central and South America by the Islamists, and the back door support of the Marxist movements by China via North Korea and Cuba is going to have an increasing detrimental effect on our influence in the region. This will result not only in new economic blocs which attempt to shield this region from our own implosion but military alliances which any sane administration would have been working to head off years ago.
Decreaser:
American hegemony. Our inability to finish the job in Iraq thus far may seem like some sort of anti-war statement by the author, but no, it’s true. We could have and should have competed this effort in 2005, but the lack of foresight by the politicians and their desire to deploy the 1st Battalion of the All-American Bureaucratic Brigade to mismanage and fight this war instead of letting our soldiers do what they do best has turned it into a conflagration of the largest proportions. Add in the fact that we have lost territory in Afghanistan over the last year, refused to aid the Iranian people in their desires to overthrow the oppressive regime there, ignored the coming hurricane in Kosovo, and presumed the Somalian situation was now “stable” and you have the makings of international firestorms which will spread over 2008.
Increaser:
Food shortages. The first nations, sadly and as usual, to feel the impact of not just the wasteful American ethanol craze will of course be those third world countries in Africa which are so sensitive to any event when their supplies break down. Add in the communist run governments of Rhodesia (sorry, I still refuse to call it “Zimbabwe”) and South Africa who are in the process of putting the final nails in the coffin of their free market farming systems and Africa will be first in the list of nations to notice failures in the food supply chain. The United States will be next as the situation has been marginal at best this past year with our grain supply teetering just above and below the 50 day mark. In 2008, unless there is a miracle, I look for the grain supply situation to deteriorate below the 50 day mark and hover in the low 40’s for most of the year. That situation had best increase your awareness of how tenuous our food supply really is.
Decreaser:
Ethanol usage. Without realistic free market incentives there is no reason for the American public to rush to the exits from the petroleum hog and into ethanol or E85 vehicles. The political mindset is just not there to provide realistic incentives and the coming food crisis will cause a marked shift in the planting patterns of the mega-corporate farms prompting ethanol grain production to decrease in 2008. Add in the factor that we do not have a pipeline system for delivery nationwide, the inconsistency of state to state incentives and regulation and you have your self-inflicted stupidity wound right there for display for all. Too bad we didn’t listen to Brazil’s example some twenty plus years ago.
Increaser:
The shift of America to the left. The sad thing about our society since FDR is the marked shift in responsibility for just about everything our people used to take care of for themselves. This nanny state so many of us mock and despise is a reality with some 55% plus of all Americans accepting and using some sort of government aid program or accepting taxpayer extorted funds. Thus as the problems in the housing sector, jobs sector and food affordability start to hit Joe Six Pack, I foresee the voters looking not for the most qualified candidate, but for the first one to don the red Santa suit and promise Christmas (that’s “Winter Festival” for all you commies out there) to all the citizens year round.
Decreaser:
The American quality of life. While the debtors continue going deeper into debt, the politicians continue to cover up, and Wall Street continues to paint the tapes to preserve their bonuses, the overall quality of American life will start to deteriorate in 2008. This will lead to the increaser I listed above. After all, if little Johnny or Susie can’t get a Sony Playstation Nineteen (or whatever they are up to), the government should subsidize it or ban it for everyone else. Add in the fact that almost everything we get is from China and we won’t be able to afford it soon as real inflation takes hold, and whoa Nellie, this society in it’s infinite wisdom will forget what 1979 and 1980 were like. We’ll inflate to try to preserve a dying system and way of life instead of taking our lumps and cleaning the system out. As a result, the quality of American life will begin it’s dive at an accelerated pace with many of the non-necessities finally becoming unaffordable and unattainable. Then as the necessities in life start to get expensive and in short supply, you have the makings of a swan dive from the top platform which will end up as a belly flop. Besides, who needs a pink fur lined digital cuckoo clock anyways?
I could probably rant on and on about this, but the reality about to slap us in the face is not pretty. Houses of cards always seem to have this nasty habit of falling at the most inopportune times in history. And this winter, I feel an ill wind a blowing……..

Mayor Donaldson was sitting at his desk sorting through the new stack of memos and advisories from FEMA and HSA when Mary his secretary opened the door with a somewhat distraught look on her face. “Mary, are you okay?” he asked as she sputtered there’s a Lieutenant Colonel Marc Philips here to see you.” The Mayor cleaned the pile up on his desk and placed the FEMA memos on top of a neat pile in his inbox and uttered to her “show him in please.” Lt. Colonel Philips looked as if he had been wallowing in the mud for days and to find an officer in Orange, Virginia this time of year who was not related to anyone in town. “Mr. Mayor, your honor, thank you for your time” said Philips, “we need to have a heart to heart talk.” Stunned, the Mayor said “well since we’ve never met before and I’m assuming we’re not at war, this must be pretty serious to have a Lieutenant Colonel sent to see me.” Philips knew he was getting off on the wrong foot, but time was pressing and he knew it. “Mr. Mayor, we’ve been at war for three months now and my unit the 2nd Battalion from the 82nd Airborne has been fighting our way up to here for weeks now. The war started in Texas and our unit and many others have been at it since then” said Philips to the stunned Mayor. Barely able to speak, the Mayor said “who have we been fighting with? Mexico? China? Russia?” Philips sat down and spoke softly “we’ve been fighting with Mexico, a UN contingent and ourselves. My unit is on the march to D.C. to try to end this thing, and we’re down to 271 men after losing our armor and the casualties in the Battle for Salisbury, North Carolina. I need medicine, supplies and most of all, any volunteers who want to help end this thing.”
“Oh my God, the television and radio say nothing about this” said the stunned Mayor. “I can not believe we have had another civil war start, I just can not accept that. I mean how do I know you’re not here to just wipe my town out. How do I know you are for real. How do I know if you’re a friend or foe?” Lieutenant Philips leaned over and spoke bluntly “I know if you had any amateur radio operators they were all arrested about two months ago, were they not?” Mayor Donaldson leaned across his desk “how did you find out about that?” Without hesitation, the Colonel said “Sir, I’m in the know. There was a universal declaration of Martial Law via an executive order. Anyone known to have communications equipment was locked up. The entire nation is locked down with military checkpoints on all major highways. The media is calling it an isolated regional thing. But when the food riots broke out in Texas last month, the military was sent in. When they refused to fire on civilians, all hell broke loose. Another unit was sent in, the commander of the dissenting unit taken out and shot and then the military started fighting each other from within. She called for UN help and that’s when it started to fly apart. I’m going to be honest with you Mr. Mayor, if you help us, they might use the Air Force to bomb your town out of existence if they find out you helped us, thus I can’t promise you anything as they might just do it anyways to divert food to the large cities. But I can tell you one thing, the war is spreading. You’ll be forced to take sides one day and your men will be drafted. This will be your only free choice so if you elect to not pick sides today, you will be forced to in the future. This much I can promise, not everyone in the military wearing our uniform believes in enforcing the Constitution” and with that, Philips stood up and waited on the Mayor’s response. “My God sir, do you realize what you just said? That’s sedition and treason under the new administration! You can get shot for that and I don’t know if I want my town mixed up in this. I will call the city council together and we’ll talk about this. I pray you are wrong but do not take offense if we sit this war out” said the Mayor. “Sir” Philips said, “ I pray you and your council think this over. Regardless of your decision today, the media blackout will not last much longer. Word will travel and you’ll find out the truth. Hiding from it only delays the day of reckoning.”
With that the officer shook the Mayor’s hand and walked out the door. The Mayor called his secretary in and sheepishly asked her to summon the council for an emergency meeting. “Pray for us Mary, our town needs it” said the Mayor as she picked up the phone with a worried look. As she picked up the phone, the roar of jets was heard overhead flying low over the city. “Friend or foe?” the mayor thought to himself and with that he went into his chambers and wept.
For those that are tired of reading my fictional moral dilemmas, I must ask a simple question:
“Do you ever plan or think about the future?”
This essay is not too much of a reach if you pay attention to what has happened the last twenty years. In the past twenty years, we reduced the size of our military to “save money’ and at the same time our nation went further into debt. Our military influence was increased via a technological monster that we thought would cure everything and that robots, not men, would fight the wars of the future. While that thinking is not totally incorrect, the times we are in now still require boots on the ground. The evidence of the technological theory is being destroyed by the Taliban as I type this now, who claim control of 53% of the Afghan countryside. There are so many naysayer emails and messages that I receive which state the essence of “it can’t happen here” or words to that effect. Yet the financial markets are in complete casino style disarray. Our political system is as corrupt as Caligula’s Rome and as inept as Nero’s fiddling while it burns. Worse, our nation has become a collection of fat, lazy government dependent welfare recipients which has forgotten that the ideals of self-sustenance and self-sufficiency is what created this nation and made us great. Lastly, and worst of all, we have abandoned our religious principles, the moral compass which made our nation strong and helped us over come the trials and tribulations throughout our history. Instead of being content to deal with the domestic expansion of our influence and using the guidelines and laws provided to us within the wisdom of the Founding Fathers, we have elected to apply “interpretations” which are modified on a decadal basis for the convenience of the citizens.
Once our financial system finally breaks down into the ultimate crash which happens to all fiat currency based mega-debtor nations, the last thread which ties us together shall disintegrate. We will fall into a level of chaos unseen even in the 1990’s Argentine situation and the food shortages which will inevitably occur will alter the balance of power from that of a nation full of loyal citizens into foraging lunatics, desperate to obtain food for our families and willing to violate any standing laws, including God’s moral laws, to obtain what is needed. These upcoming shortages will not just be for food, but water, energy and medical care as well. This leads to an inevitable breakdown of civilized control and worst, on a region by region basis, civilian government control. The foreigners can see the handwriting on the wall. From a financial point of view, they could come back here and buy so many of our companies and resources up ten times over but yet they seem to be quietly staying away. Do they detect the obvious? Do they fear that we are the nightmare scenario that their nations will have to deal with in the future? That is the crux of where this prepetorial is heading. And the crux is we will be alone.
The United States military was culled and surveyed to death starting in the early 1990’s. There was an effort to insure nothing but the most loyal troopers were in place as the wars of the future were going to be a tad bit different than the first war to liberate Kuwait and the invasions of Panama and Grenada. The word from the alternative media and quite a few ex-military in the mid-1990’s that a survey was conducted about gun confiscation and killing American non-cooperative citizens was issued. While most in the mainstream dismissed this as the ravings of lunatics and anti-Clinton and anti-American zealots, the fact still remained. As we approach the end of the first decade in the 21st century, the realization that the basis for this survey should hit home. But let’s just disregard this piece of evidence. Let’s look at other factors. There are many soldiers who are warning via numerous back channel sources that their families need to make serious preparations for an upcoming disturbance in the American way of life. This too has been dismissed by the mainstream as nonsense but if you put your ear to the ground, you realize the political truth in the structure of our military; generals are by and large politicians now, everyone else is a grunt and does as they are told. So many of our dedicated soldiers have questions not so much about policy, but the implementation. The dismissal of so many officers over the past years for disagreeing with the Commander in Chief can be questioned not as the CIC’s right to do so, but the why? Why such a huge turnover. And why are we so openly courting foreign troops in a latter Roman Empire bid to trade citizenship for service? The answers are disturbing if you look within to answer them.
Thus the basis for this little story, and the question “friend or foe?” One day, not like the media’s answer to patriot culture in the television show “Jericho”, a soldier or large group of them might show up in your town. The debate will not last long. Both sides in the initial months of a civil war will claim they are fighting for the Constitution. Both sides will claim they are there to protect you and your family. Both sides will make claims of atrocities committed by the other side. The debate will end when they act. And then you will be forced to decide. That is where the prepping and planning comes in. You must, under any circumstances, have the ability to stay in contact with the outside world. The small town I used (and have visited in my past) has a population of little over 4,000 folks now. If, which actually could be “when”, hostilities break out, the spark will be obvious to those who pay attention. The small towns will become the battlefields, the large ones bypassed and starved into submission. The decision on your part and your town’s will be vital to your survival. You will have to know the feeling, mood and input of the soldiers in your town. You need to know how they will side. Listening and communicating with the outside world and bypassing the propaganda will be key to your survival. Failing to have a plan for these events could lead to some luck, and the decision never having to be made by you and your family. Or it could lead to a painful death by firing squad or biological attack on your town. The time to start putting an ear to the ground and listening to what is coming is now. The time to believe everything the government tells you is now up for debate. Make friends, get information and decide your future now. Because if the answer to the question turns out to be “foe”, it’s too late.

As Karen looked at her husband Mike in utter panic, the realization that the Medical Services Administration was not going to help their child had sunk in. Their son was in his third day of running a fever and still having a problem retaining liquids. After the nightmare trip to the emergency room after he cut his foot open outside, they were hitting the wall and so frustrated as well as worried. The intern who treated their son basically told them to clean the wound and give him some children’s aspirin for the fever, but don’t worry about stitches or such would not be needed. Karen remembers that visit as she had to restrain Mike from punching the intern from Mexico as he kept screaming at the staff that he wanted an American doctor to see his child immediately. The security guards ended up escorting us out and Mike got a very stern warning that this visit to the hospital was using up one of his two permitted emergency room visits per year for his family and not to lose the privileges for the last visit by making a scene. This rationing routine had just gone too far she thought. And now their child’s life was endangered because of it.
Karen, having worked at a Doctor’s office before the depression had started, knew what she had to do. This nightmare assigned her family to a doctor across the other side of the county, which would have been fine except to get there would have cost them precious gasoline which was also being rationed now. The cards they were issued for their family had incorrect information as Mike and Karen spent months fixing it as an illegal alien had stolen their information and gotten a MSA card for his family in their name. She knew that the card wasn’t going to help as the mandatory annual visit was already used up, and with one of two emergency room visits used up she didn’t dare take a chance and waste it unless someone in the family was dying. . She picked the phone up and called her old boss at home and asked if she could see him. Doctor Williams had retired just weeks before the new MSA program was established and had warned her to prepare for the worst once the new “American Universal” plan was unveiled by the President. The Doc answered the phone in his usual gruff voice “yes, bring the child here immediately” and that was not a good sign to her. As Mike and Karen arrived at Doc’s house, the paranoia set in as they looked around to make sure they were not followed or anyone was watching them. Doc opened the door and rushed them into the house. As their son was set down on the kitchen counter the Doc said “you realize we could all go to jail for this, right?” Karen looked at him and said “I know, I’ll never say a word, I swear it” and Doc nodded and started to look at the child’s foot. There was a major infection setting in and the Doc asked if the hospital had provided anti-biotics to the child. “No, they just told us to keep it cleaned out and give him aspirin for the fever” Karen said. “Typical” is all the Doc muttered as he wandered down to his basement without saying another word. Mike just stood there with a dumfounded look until the doctor emerged from the basement with a baggie full of pills. “Give the child one pill three times daily with each meal until this bag is used up” the Doc muttered. Mike, looking even more puzzled, just had to open his big mouth and ask; “where did you get these?” The Doc sneered “don’t worry about it, not all of us have gone over to the dark side and just be thankful your wife knew me. Your child probably would be dead in two weeks if you kept going to the emergency room or your assigned doctor. The government is saving all medications for the military now, and you’re family is so low on the totem pole, by the time you got approval for a prescription, they would have had to amputate the child’s leg.” Mike just nodded and asked how much the Doc wanted for his services. The Doc looked mike in the eyes and said, “let’s just call this a down payment. I know I’m going to need my car worked on one day, and you’re a mechanic. I can’t afford to use the local shops which now charge $400 per hour to see you, so let’s just say you owe me a check up in the near future.” Mike looked shocked and said “you realize that barter is a major felony Doc! We could both end up doing ten years if we’re caught, right?” Doc smiles and with a devilish grin said “then you’d best keep your mouth shut” and with that the visit was over. Karen wondered as they carried their son to the car what people who didn’t have a connection like she did just how they would get by. And Mike realized that he had best make more connections like this if their family was going to survive the times they were in. He just hoped that the idea of making connections like this was not too late…..
There I go again. But the realization that this story is not so much about just a medical issue but a survival issue should be setting in now. The American dream is going to fade quickly once the economic landscape changes and to add to the misery index is the fact that most Americans will look to the government to take care of them, as FDR had trained them to with his pavlovian whistle of socialism. The conditioning program is now quite complete with over 55% of all Americans receiving some sort of government benefit. Yet you are not one of that 55% and so this does not make a difference to you? Wrong again. The conditioning of the majority will only make those who believe in self-sufficiency or free enterprise much more difficult. And that’s where you had best make your plans now.
First, you have to set up a network of like minded folks for such emergencies. In the story it was fortunate for Karen she used to work for a doctor and was not involved with the system beyond here initial contacts with the new socialized medical program. The nightmare described above is not unreasonable as the rationing of everything will result in some people being cast aside until a bureaucrat calls your number. This means that those professionals and tradesmen will immediately start looking outside the system to avoid the bureaucracy and deliver their services for an immediate profit or just because they do not want to be a part of such a system. Making friends and contacts who can help you and vice-versa will be critical as during the Great Depression, barter was a key for the average person to survive.
Next you may want to actually start a survival library. There are numerous “must have” books on the market for each situation. The Boy Scout’s manual, army survival manuals, Where there is No Doctor, etc. are just some of the numerous books in my collection and having a survival library might just save your life one day. All of us are guilty of buying one of these books and just shelving it, but at least once per year, read it and get familiar with how to deal with situations you may encounter in the near future. You never know when the crash will take place and you don’t want to learn on the fly.
Lastly, and most importantly, do not count on the current supply chain, other people or the government for your family’s survival once the situation deteriorates. There are going to be labor strikes, shortages, and financial system interruptions which will cause problems that the average American has never seen nor would understand. Unless you have been to some third world nations and seen what doing without means, it’s hard to explain. While we take going to the doctor for granted, it’s going to become a problem once universal health care is announced. The hints as to how to force you into the system have already been displayed with the socialist zeal endorsed by Massachusetts’s former Governor Romney’s program which fines you for not signing up. This dangerous precedent will be repeated in state after state once the new Federal system is enacted, which it will be regardless of who win’s the election in 2008.
Your freedoms, especially the freedom to choose what and who supplies everything to your family, will be removed without a shot being fired. The powers that be have figured out that by destroying the economy, increasing dependency and removing the cost efficiency of the freedom of movement they can force you into a box and into programs dictated by their bureaucratic minions. This dangerous reintroduction of the communist model seems so far fetched on our shores, yet we are moving full speed ahead into such a system now that we have seen the success of the Chinese model. Please take the time and energy to prepare yourself and your family now. Because if we are going to destroy our system and follow the Chinese model, the term “cradle to grave” takes on a new meaning. And that meaning might be one which eliminates not just your family’s freedoms, but their lives.

By John Galt
The temperature had to just be miserable today for May 14, 2011, as here I was at a WalMart supercenter queued up in a long line with every other hungry soul in the county it seemed. The radio was blaring the news and some music from the Voice of America, now broadcast on the A.M. radio around the clock as the war in Pakistan and Iran had everyone’s full attention. The announcer came on at 11 a.m. sharp to give the local news and weather when I heard him say “it’s now 91 degrees here in Columbia and the South Carolina news will follow the VOA World Update at 11”. The news was disturbing as usual and the crowd was getting restless. The line had well over two thousand people in it and since the program was mandatory, once you were in line, you could not leave. As we stood there, I noticed the Home Guard patrolling the area, with machine guns mounted on Humvees in full view along with dogs and several large trucks filled with rifles and pistols. “What a program” I thought to myself. This was the most ingenious, yet devious thing I had ever seen and yet I was trapped into because I said “it could never happen here” over and over again to my friends and family.
After six hours in line, and thankfully Home Guard Boy Scouts acting as runners passing out cold bottles of water, it was my turn at the table. The HG officer motioned me behind the curtain and I placed the two guns I owned on the table. Curiously, he inspected the 9 mm pistol for quite a while before uttering the serial numbers to the other soldier at the table. She busily keyed in the serial numbers then uttered “clean” back to the officer. Then in rapid fire succession, she fired off the questions:
“Have you ever been convicted of a crime?”
“No”
“Did you purchase these firearms from an authorized dealer?”
“The shotgun yes, the pistol I purchased from a friend over twenty years ago.”
“Does this individual live in this area?”
“No, I bought it when I lived in Colorado in 1988.”
“Are you aware of this pistol ever being used in a crime prior to your purchase?”
“No”
“Do you still have any ammunition in your possession?”
I hesitated for a moment and said “I might have some 12 gauge shells lying around, but the paper didn’t say anything about turning in ammunition.”
“Please destroy the ammunition immediately or turn it into the nearest Police or Home Guard station. Thank you. Now please move to table 14 for fingerprinting, retina scan and DNA sampling. Here is your receipt for credits to be added to your food ration allowance after you are finished with processing.”
“Sheesh, they treat you like a criminal” I thought, but the turn in was mandatory as the Home Guard was running short of weapons and ammo with so much being dedicated to the troops overseas. At least my wife would be pleased, for once we would have fresh meat instead of frozen soy burgers or whatever that garbage was they passed off as meat in the grocery stores. For turning in two old guns, we got steaks, hamburgers, hams and more that would last for at least two months and I was thankful for that. My family had been losing weight on these caloric rations that you were limited to on your card and if I had to eat any more tofu, I thought I would vomit. “At least the guns were going for a good cause” I thought to myself, as terrorist infiltrations across our borders had increased and the number of attacks exceeded my worst nightmare. Maybe now the excuse that “Americans aren’t doing enough” can be put to sleep.
Once again fiction may seem strange, but improbable? Hardly. Consider the shifting political sands in this nation towards a more socialist idealism. Think about the power grab which could be executed on such short notice without even a whimper if there were numerous terrorist attacks inside the United States and the local law enforcement agencies cried “uncle” as a consequence of years of refusing to share data or train them against terrorist activities. I’m sure I’ll get some nasty emails crying “but they have been trained and information is being shared” and that’s easy enough to address with several questions. Have we trained our officers to emotionally function if infants are plucked from incubators and shot or beheaded in front of their eyes? Or if young girls are executed live on television at their schools? There is not just a tactical methodology that has to be addressed, but an emotional one, and it’s something our soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan are having trouble dealing with on a psychological basis also. The prospects of such programs are not insane, they have been executed in Western societies in the past, with Nazi Germany being the best example. There has been a lot of speculation that there is long term plan on the books for weapons confiscation and the best way to achieve this goal is not via door to door searches and threats; it’s to starve the population and offer short term tempting treats as the economic and civil situation spirals downward. If everyone remembers the survey question from the late 1980’s and early 1990’s issued to our soldiers about weapons confiscation and domestic disruptions, the table was set years ago. The tactic of confrontation to force compliance only leads to an expedient rise in civil, if not violent, opposition to the actions of the powers that be.
How does one plan to deal with this? Sadly, this is not going to be a prepetorial to help you too much in the arena of actions rather more so to make you think. You have to make individual moral decisions which could endanger your life and your family’s. That decision is split into two very difficult points of discussion.
First, if you turn in your weapons, the adage goes “only the criminals will have guns” and that is a dangerous but factual aspect of life. You might be “law abiding” yet during a time of emergency, national or regional, the government is still unable to allocate enough resources to put every fire out or should I say, protect every citizen. The weapons confiscation program will actually based on a scientific model where in City X the estimated percentage of firearms ownership equals Y and the number of conforming citizens which turn their weapons in will be Z. Thus the idea of the fictional story above, where food is used to tempt in the remaining holdouts is waived not in front of the gun owner who might be a card holding NRA conservative, but in front of the wife and children to tear the family apart and force the issue. After that subgroup is filtered out, that leaves the hardcore “resistance” as they shall be labeled and the criminal tag applied accordingly. That’s when heavily armed “sterilization” units will be introduced to clean out and remove anyone who refuses to get with the program. By that same token, the same statistical analysis, faulty as it is, will be applied to the allocation of law enforcement resources to prevent cooperating communities from becoming victims of upsurges in crime because of such a program. The reality is that using statistical models based on fixed or prior population models in such a societal breakdown will prove to be unreliable and in many cases fatally flawed.
Thus the dangers of option number two; holding out. There are way too many things that I could offer as advice and breaking the law is not one of them. However, if the United States abdicates it’s Constitution, then how can I be loyal to a government which defies the laws it is sworn and empowered to uphold? These are the moral hazard aspects of the question, yet there is more. The danger you as a citizen introduce to your family is nothing to be treated lightly. Consider the initial squeeze under way at this time; ammunition is becoming sparse and expensive. The first operation is to price the average consumer out of the market using economic forces of inflation and shortages. This in and of itself will prevent most people from saving the money to purchase a new firearm or add to their ammunition stocks as they will be forced to pay more for energy, food and shelter. By no means am I saying that monetary inflation is a tool to disarm the citizens, it is a beneficial byproduct of the economic destruction by the central powers. Then by regulating the gun shops to the point where they are forced out of business, be it on inspections to find technicalities or concocted violations or encouraging lawsuit after lawsuit to bankrupt them, the availability of weapons and ammo will be further restricted. Lastly, you glorify the criminal ownership of firearms to make people feel safer if only the law enforcement community owns weapons to protect the citizens and diminish stories of citizens defending themselves from violent crimes. Crazy as this may sound, the reality is here. Turn on a rap video, television series or video game and tell me that the criminal is not glorified in some cases because of their ability to handle a firearm and terrorize communities via crime sprees. All of those things have happened and continue to at an accelerated pace.
Thus the actual moral hazard if you select option number two:
Do you endanger your family by violating the edicts of an Executive Order or do you endanger your family by opening your household up to the average criminal, who will behave far worse in a societal disruption?
That is the question you have to answer for yourself.
I have made my decision, it’s time for you to make yours.
Good luck and I hope you pray hard as you think about this.
This time, it’s for all the marbles.
