And thank you for this… I’ve been telling friends and family for years now to buy baskets of commodities and foreign currencies, and to go heavy into gold and Euros. During this time the price of gold has doubled and the value of the dollar has halved. And yet these friends, most of whom are gay, female or “metro-sexuals” (since I’m gay myself), have all dismissed me as a crank. Despite the financial collapse, they still do. They are still praying at the alter of government and Obama, even as they lose their shirts.

Consequently, I very much appreciate your depiction of the frustrations this poor man is experiencing with his clueless resentful wife, even has he tries to save her worthless hide. Unfortunately, I think our tolerating such people, no matter how much we love them, has very much contributed to the problem. When the population of the weak minded surpasses that of the strong, most especially in democracy, troubles such as you write about are all but inevitable. It can’t be otherwise.
