Jim Rawles On Coast 2 Coast Tonight
by John Galt
March 11, 2010
I’m going to have to catch the archives except for some of the last minute stuff due to my weird hours but gang, if you CAN listen to this man. Jim Rawles is a damned good man and one of the few members of the “Survivalist” community that GETS IT without reproach. The show starts at 0100 ET.
To find a station where you can hear it:

I get Coast to Coast on 550KHz KRC, here in Cincinnati, Ohio.
I think I will listen, if I can stay awake until 0100 ET.

Jim Rawles site is excellent. Another excellent podcast is Jack Spirko at http://www.thesurvivalposdcast.com.
I check both those sites and John’s site every day to actually learn something.
All three of you guys get “the big picture” at what is happening to our country and bless you all for sharing it with us.
Well done John!

I discovered Jim Rawels because of his book, The Patriots. I was really impressed with the fact that I could actually go to the web-sites called out in the story-line and they were real.

@Carl, Random63, Mikey, Agnie: I gather all of you liked the show and found it useful. I went to the link and found out some things. First, it is a subscription site. Well, OK, the bills need to be paid. Second, it is a 4 hour show. With my bandwidth availability that’s a bit over 8 hours just to download. Third, listening as a streaming feed from a broadcast, due to my bandwidth isn’t feasible. I don’t even get broadcast radio on a reliable basis.
.
So perhaps you could share a bit on what you heard that you found new and useful?

Well, I didn’t get to hear it, either. I was pretty tired and when to bed at 11:00pm, thinking I’d get to hear it on the Coast-to-Coast website.
.
Well, it’s pay-per-hear and as I’m unemployed, subscribing to the site just to listen to the interview isn’t going to happen.
.
As it stands, I have a copy of Rawles “How to Survive the End of the World as We Know It!”
.
I guess I’ll have to settle for the information that is in the book…

For those of you that did not hear the show last night, go to Jim’s site survivalblog. You will find everything there and the archives are wonderful.

PERSPECTIVE–I did listen to the entire 3 hours and only came away with a few new ideas. First, move to a lightly populated area. Try to live at least one tankful of gas away from a major city. I am still working on how I can do this because he did not detail what he considers to be a major city. I never heard of having a 3 year supply of food before or as Jim put a 1 year supply of food for 3 families. How do you hide over 100 cases of #10 cans(or more)of dehydrated food without your neighbors knowing about it? Buy a BIG Berky water filter and catch your rain water as well. He did discuss the poster on his site that was telling people that it was OK to loot to survive and his readers coming down on him hard for saying so. Jim said the only way that this could be done is if 90% of our population is taken out. Even then, looting can get you KILLED very quickly. He discussed EMP attacks, did not learn anything new there. Talked about inexpensive rifles. He did mention that all of us should have a gas, a diesel and a electric powered vehicles(1 of each). I can understand the first two but an electric vehicle with the electric grid down I am not sure of. Plus, if you do have the only operating vehicle how long before you become a target and balls of lead start coming your way. If you want to help someone out during SHTF it is best to do so without them knowing it. Once it becomes known you have supplies you will be attacked and all of your supplies will be taken. DO NOT TELL ANYONE WHAT YOU ARE DOING OR THEY WILL COME TO YOUR HOUSE WHEN THE SHTF He did mention his book “PATRIOTS” and that he had to overdo it a bit on his characters in order to have a book that people would want to read.
Thats pretty much it, I may have missed a few, but I came away with the feeling that I could have better spent the time reading on his website rather than listening to it. I am not trying to bash Jim or Coast to Coast for having him on, its just that I have been prepping for a long time and the issues/concerns that I have were not covered in the show.
