A US soldier in Afghanistan has reportedly embraced Islam at a ceremony attended by a large number of people, according to a video released on Tuesday.
The video, released on Liveleak.com, shows Afghan national soldiers also participating in the ceremony.
At the beginning of the video, an elderly Afghan announces the name of newly-covert’s as Habibullah, meaning the “friend of Allah” and welcomes the US soldier into the fold and eulogises his decision to embrace Islam.
“Indeed this man (revert) is a friend of Allah because Allah has had special mercy on him (for showing him the true path of Islam),” says the Afghan in the video.
Then he ties a turban on his head, which is a mark of respect in Pakhtun culture.

If they respond to any one of these, you also accept it and withhold yourself from doing them any harm. If they agree to pay, accept it from them and hold off your hands. If they refuse to pay the tax, seek Allah’s help and fight them”
