I’m not a big fan of the concocted holidays, the so-called “Hallmark” holidays on our nation’s calendar but this Father’s Day does have a sad but special meaning as my brother and I realize that this will be our last Father’s Day with out beloved Dad.
It was great to spend time with him today, although the cancer is literally eating his body alive, but for those who have dealt with this, I now understand what you meant by enjoy each day and tomorrow is a gift.
To those who honored their fathers on this day, God Bless you, and to those dad’s who got the love of their kids, give them a big hug, chug of beer, or whatever you desire to express your love back.
Each moment in life now has a marker, ignore it at your own risk.
