Yesterday at 10:50 a.m. Central Time, Bobby Black passed away after a rapid, devastating bout with cancer.
From feeling fine just two months ago until diagnosis just last week, he lost over 50 pounds in just a few weeks, decimating his body leaving him as you see in the photo above, until he finally was called home to heaven to be with his late son who he had lost just a few cruel years ago.
For those of you who did not know Bobby, let me fill you in. During his younger years in service to God, he ventured off to India to perform missionary work to help the poor there. His stories about his adventures there were always interesting, but sadly, the persecution Christianity faced from other religious zealots and sects eventually led him to leave because of threats to his life.
After his time overseas, he worked in personal protective services traveling extensively and meeting some very interesting individuals, many of whom he would never reveal and kept his word to the very end protecting their identity. His life was never dull and as time marched on, he would find it more interesting than ever.
Upon settling back down in Mount Vernon, Indiana, he became a local preacher with a small church, helping those in the community in need, performing service, and during tough economic times, assisting those who truly needed a meal and a prayer to pull through.
I met Bobby through our adventures into the online radio movement almost 15 years ago which led to a long term friendship to the very end. He once again donated and loaned money without question to those in need, believing that there was a strong “Patriot” movement in our country; sadly, only to be disillusioned in the end. During that time he gave freely of himself, yet he never received even a thank you or offers of assistance to his family when the chips were down.
The picture above is of Bobby’s last day where he could sit up on Saturday, October 12th. He defied the odds and wanted one more premium cigar and a chance to let me know he was still fighting the evils of cancer to the very end, although he acknowledged that he was going out on his terms with his upcoming death never in doubt.
Thankfully God knows he has a good man at his side now to be with his son, and Bobby with his boy Ethan forever and ever.
I ask only that my friends, and people who remember the Just Measures Radio Network, the true Patriot friends who remember him, step up and help his poor wife, Bridgette. I have started a GoFundMe page in her name and ask that you give what you can to help her.
