As the mainstream media hypes up the nine now 6 foot storm surge of Hurricane Irene, a quick reminder:
Katrina’s surge was:
29 FEET
Thus I’m not going to get excited about this as the only problems this should cause will be from freak accidents or the cleansing of the gene pool as Darwin Award winners claim their prize.
Hurricanes are survivable storms but for some reason people insist on ignoring the warnings or acting like drunk asses.
A prime example of the latter is the beginning of what we shall call the “Drama Queen” tweets which should begin to make the rounds of the internet via Twitter. Some will be tongue-in-cheek, others will be serious until the writer sobers up and realizes “I said what?”
Here comes example number one courtesy of:

No sooner than did I hit “ENTER” on the original posting, Drama Queen Tweet #2 arrives:

And now for some more…8/27 21:30 ET (my comments follow):
Because Connecticut is expecting an insurance agency riot or the millionaires need someone to pick their Sunday editions of the NY Times up at the end of their driveways and don’t want to get their feet wet?
My head is now bloodied from banging it on to my desk.
But threatening to kill voters, burning homes to the ground, and racists proclaiming white oppressors and their babies must be killed is no reason at all to declare uh, anything?
Speaking of Drama Queens….
She’s right. If they can’t pass the cheese whiz the Reunite will back up in their systems. A nasty combination, IMHO.
1 foot? 1 foot? 1 foot? You have got to be crapping me. We have afternoon thunderstorms with 2 feet of water and street flooding all the time.
This from a school which has changed their football tradition from historic pasts to “Sponsored by Tampax” and as a result the wussification of America continues. Needless to say this tweet and the story exemplify the Ivy League’s sissification.
