7/8 V of Galt: Survival Hour on Emergency Construction + Friday News Blitz

By John Galt
July 8, 2011

Tonight’s radio show will start with the News Blitz which will clean up uncovered stories from the week and the Friday financial report plus whatever news of the day is worth covering. In hour number two the Survival Hour returns with an impromptu subject:

Emergency construction techniques.

People often talk about “bugging out” in a massive emergency. One of our listeners got creative and bought an old bus and created a BugOut bus shelter that is mobile, runs on diesel or bio-diesel, and can get to the safety of the boonies barring an all out nightmare scenario. Yet what happens if you’re on foot in a snowstorm in the mountains? Caught in the swamps of Florida when a hurricane approaches? Or just trying to protect oneself from the elements while escaping the unthinkable.

Do you know how to build basic shelters? Do you even own a tent, a tarp, or heck, a hand axe?

Tonight I’ll try to address those subjects and introduce everyone to some emergency shelter options that do not require a building permit and only your imagination.
