06.20 Tropical Storm Danielle to Form in Bay of Campeche

by John Galt June 20, 2016 05:00 ET FYI, since there is little time for this storm to intensify and it is making landfall as a minimal Tropical Storm later today, this will be the only update on this storm. As of this update it is a Tropical Depression but per the NHC will become a storm before landfall after lunch Central Time today, thus the title.   ************************************* NHC ADVISORIES 000 WTNT34 KNHC 200849 TCPAT4 BULLETIN TROPICAL DEPRESSION FOUR ADVISORY NUMBER 3 NWS NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER MIAMI FL AL042016 400…

Heads Up GA/SC: It’s Hurricane Season 2016 (updated 5/25)

by John Galt May 24, 2016 16:45 ET One week from tomorrow, the annual Atlantic hurricane season begins. However, Mother Nature does not have a calendar. Thankfully this is only a model projection, the one named the “Euro” or ECMWF which happens to be one of the most accurate models last season, and it shows the potential for a tropical system to develop and ruin Memorial Day for residents in the Savannah, GA to Charleston, SC region (courtesy of TropicalTidbits.com): I shall keep my loyal readers updated should this actually develop…

Tropical Storm Gabrielle Forms near Puerto Rico

by John Galt September  5, 2013 05:15 ET With the development of Tropical Storm Gabrielle overnight I feel that I must post this advisory thread at least for my readers in Puerto Rico and Bermuda as it would appear that is the path of the storm at this time. Since it is not expected to reach hurricane strength nor impact the United States, this will be the only update provided. All graphics will update themselves automatically. 000 WTNT32 KNHC 050840 TCPAT2 BULLETIN TROPICAL STORM GABRIELLE ADVISORY NUMBER 3 NWS NATIONAL…

Tropical Depression Dorian is the Storm that Will not Die

by John Galt August 3, 2013 07:30 ET   Some two weeks after its original designation the storm has been re-upgraded to a Tropical Depression by the NHS this morning. Fortunately it has fish (going out to sea to swim) written all over it based on the wind patterns so it is no threat other than coastal rains in Florida. This will be my only update on the storm since it is no threat to the CONUS. 000 WTNT34 KNHC 030832 TCPAT4 BULLETIN TROPICAL DEPRESSION DORIAN ADVISORY NUMBER 16 NWS…

2013 Official JohnGaltFLA Hurricane Forecast: We are all Going to Die

by John Galt May 24, 2013 19:00 ET     Nothing like the classics. However, I don’t think the hurricane season this year is any different than any recent years as Joe Bastardi at WeatherBell.com  has been so accurately stating that the North Atlantic is in a 1940’s-1950’s type of cycle with increased activity. Imagine that. It wasn’t caused by Algore inspired globalist warming. With that brief political statement, here is my forecast based on some back of the napkin, dartboard, and personal experience analysis: 27 named storms 13 Hurricanes…

Tropical Storm Alberto forms off South Carolina Coast

by John Galt May 20, 2012 07:00 ET   In what can only be described with the word “ugh” as in here we go again, the first tropical storm of the season has formed off of the coast of South Carolina. Alberto is the earliest tropical storm to form since 2008 and almost three weeks before the official start of the hurricane season. With that little gem of good news, a reminder that the satellite photos and graphics from the NHC update themselves automatically, model runs will be updated in this…

Tropical Storm Franklin: No threat unless your name is Flipper

By John Galt August 13, 2011 – 09:00 ET   This is not a threat to the U.S. so this will be the only advisory I post. I just find it interesting that the season has now really started to crank up with other areas as threats as this Mariner’s Rule map demonstrates: 000 WTNT31 KNHC 130837 TCPAT1 BULLETIN TROPICAL STORM FRANKLIN ADVISORY NUMBER 3 NWS NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER MIAMI FL AL062011 500 AM EDT SAT AUG 13 2011 …THE SIXTH TROPICAL STORM OF THE 2011 ATLANTIC SEASON FORMS…NO THREAT TO…

8/4 0500 ET Tropical Storm Emily is driving forecasters nuts

By John Galt August 4, 2011 Here we go again boys and girls as 91L grew up while I was on the air. The storm appears to be somewhat more interesting now with the path but model forecasts are still way to early to be precise. 8/4 1700ET update:  And just like that, poof, it’s gone…. Tropical Season Heats Up: Invest 91L 100% chance of development

By John Galt July 30, 2011 It would appear that July might mew out like a kitten with a very weak storm named Don, but with the activity picking up in the Atlantic basin August could be roaring in like 2005. I personally hope not because who wants to go through that again. From the National Hurricane Center in Miami: (CLICK ON THE IMAGE TO ENLARGE or REDUCE SIZE) This will probably be the last satellite photo for this thread we’ll see today before I start a Tropical Storm/Hurricane Emily thread:…
