As many of my readers might be aware, I receive and try to sort through numerous news sources to provide information, commentary, and analysis on current events and the world in general. It means that sometimes I have to read propaganda rags like the Iranian “news” source PRESSTV or even the New York Times. The era of a “free” New York Times online ended several weeks ago and thus far they are claiming that the subscription model has been a modest success, however, considering their track record of propaganda and the history of their financial reports one should take that with a huge grain of salt.
The problem is that the Times has gone from just acting as an amusing refuge for the extreme left that printed drivel and evolved into a pure state arm of the regime; an almost pure propaganda arm of the administration and those with a globalist agenda with a Marxist tilt. The attack pieces and distortions printed against conservatives from either the entertainment realm or political realm is a known quantity but what is ignored are those pieces slanting opinion within “news” stories on the environment, economy, foreign policy, or government criminality.
The most recent example of the later is the obvious bias in the coverage of “Operation Gunwalker” where the ATF apparently conducted criminal violations of American law in an effort to frame honest gun owners and dealers as illegal exporters of firearms to the Mexican drug cartels. The theory is that the operation was conducted to create a false relationship between American gun ownership and sales with the violence and murder south of the border. David Codrea at the Examiner.com has been covering this story and the reason the Times gave one of the other reporters at the Examiner for not covering this huge story is that it was “not their scoop” (See Examiner.com story: New York Times not following ‘Project Gunwalker’ because it’s not their ‘scoop’, April 1, 2011). While the source might claim this is the reason, the obvious conclusion is that because this is not a conservative administration there is no reason for the Times hierarchy to embarrass “their man” and thus break the chain of command. If the Bush administration failed to abide by Congressional subpoenas the Times would have posted screaming editorials and made it a front page story every day but due to their allegiance with the regime, Congressman Darrell Issa’s investigation receives scant if any coverage at all.
Fast forward to this morning’s paper where once again the business section is used to promote the cap and trade or “green” agenda being shoved down the throats of the American people. The story from David Leonhardt in the Economix section titled “The True Cost of Carbon” is without a doubt the most extreme example of propaganda instead of reporting. The claims by “scientists” who have long had an agenda against capitalism and American hegemony is quite obvious when you read the tripe. The sad part is the American people, at least fifty percent of them, have been so dumbed down by the re-education camps known as the public school system, they believe this crap and thus policy is made on the false science of global warming. Yet nobody outside of the internet and a few broadcast outlets speaks out against a newspaper which is nothing more than a modern version of Pravda or Das Reich.
Good luck with fleecing the sheeple on your pricing plan NYT as this reader will not buy your paper and will only use the twenty free stories to monitor your bastardization of the 1st Amendment by acting as a state voice instead of an independent media source. I urge my readers to think also about what is being propagated by the mainstream media, including Fox News in some cases, before accepting everything as gospel. This is a moment in history where the independence of free thought and the direction of our nation shall be decided; using information sources of dubious origination could well lead to a disastrous for the outcome of our nation.
