Did a Russia Su-27 Actually Collide with a US Drone? Maybe not…

Before I get to the inflation report, DeSantis, and all the other news, the big news of the day was this via CBS News and other US propaganda outlets:

Russian jet collides with American drone over Black Sea, U.S. military says

Excerpt:

A Russian Su-27 fighter jet collided with an American military drone over the Black Sea on Tuesday, the U.S. said. The collision made the drone “unflyable” and officials crashed it into the sea, the Pentagon said. The White House called the Russian plane’s intercept of the unmanned aircraft “reckless.”

“Our MQ-9 aircraft was conducting routine operations in international airspace when it was intercepted and hit by a Russian aircraft, resulting in a crash and complete loss of the MQ-9,” U.S. Air Force General James Hecker, commander of U.S. Air Forces Europe and Air Forces Africa, said in a statement.

“In fact, this unsafe and unprofessional act by the Russians nearly caused both aircraft to crash,” Hecker said.

The actual statement by the Pentagon itself was beyond hilarity, by the way:

“Several times before the collision, the Su-27s dumped fuel on, and flew in front of the MQ-9 in a reckless, environmentally unsound and unprofessional manner. This incident demonstrates a lack of competence in addition to being unsafe and unprofessional,” Hecker stated.

Yes, that is real. Yes, the government is using my taxpayer dollars to sound like idiots.

The Russian Ministry of Defense also issued an interesting statement:

Unlike many Americans, I have learned to never trust any government; especially our own. There were reports that the Russia Sukhoi Su-27 went down also but no official Russian channels verified this.

Thus let us put our logic hats on and solve this problem together boys and girls.

This is not 1945 where jet fighters “tip” the wings of V1 Buzz Bombs over London like the United Kingdom did. Then if the Russians did not ram their aircraft or wings into the propellers of a MQ-9 Reaper, which is what is being reported by the BBC and other news sources, how did it crash?

This is the MQ-9 Reaper folks, take a close look at the propeller and tail assembly:

That is not exactly the easiest target in the world to poke a jet airplane’s nose cone into to bring it down. Is it possible, of course but extremely difficult.

A more realistic possibility does exist and that is what would infuriate the Pentagon if somehow it could be confirmed.

The Sukhoi Su-27 is a 37 year old fighter which has long outlived it’s usefulness as a primary high altitude interceptor except for short range and coastal defense as it was used today. The problem with the American media and our government overlords is that due to the lack of good ground intelligence inside of Russia (thanks Obama and Biden), new weapons and systems could have been developed which could have brought this drone down without firing a shot.

The REX-2 is a handheld anti-drone electronic jamming system for use on the battlefield by infantry against low flying recon and suicide drones. The video below displays it’s debut by the Russian defense industry:

The Russian military has developed even better systems than this one which is designed to do the following:

The REX-2 anti-drone gun is equipped with three signal suppression modules for 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz frequencies as well as for satellite navigation signal suppression. According to the company, the frequencies can be changed depending on the customer’s demand. The REX-2 has a battery life of 3 hours. It also has a battery level indicator.

Bold and italics are added by myself for emphasis.

On the ground in the Donbas and throughout the Ukraine, Russian anti-drone systems on armored vehicles and carried by infantry are having a great impact on the outcome of shaping the battlefield.

Thus, if the Su-27 is no longer the primary interceptor for the Russian Air Force, as the Su-35 is now, then what other options could be tested out during this period of conflict? How about an airborne version of a drone killer with greater range and performance than American and NATO intelligence are even aware of?

To underestimate the Chinese and Russian defense industries is a grave mistake which has been repeated in history by arrogant empires thinking their sun would never set. The French tanks of 1939 were much more advanced than Germany’s, but technology and tactics failed them. The British military did not have an answer for German fighters until the Spitfire was upgraded and mass produced.

What if Russia, hell, Russia and China, have figured out an airborne multi-weather high altitude platform to disrupt the signals on American drones and bring them down without firing a shot?

Think about it.

It’s the most logical conclusion.
