The news tonight is disturbing for those who think that Brazil will continue on its path as partner to the West and the existing order. Bolsonaro is trailing Lula 50.8% to 49.2% and the Brazilian Electoral Court in Brazil has declared Lula the winner.

Brazil election: Lula da Silva narrowly defeats Jair Bolsonaro
From Al-Jazeera:
Bolsonaro had been leading throughout the first half of the vote count and, as soon as Lula overtook him, cars in the streets of downtown Sao Paulo began honking their horns.
People in the streets of Rio de Janeiro’s Ipanema neighbourhood could be heard shouting, “It turned!”
It was Brazil’s most polarising election since its return to democracy in 1985 after a military dictatorship that Lula, a former union leader, rallied against and Bolsonaro, a former army captain, invokes with nostalgia.
It remained to be seen if Bolsonaro would concede defeat. Without proof, he has described the voting system as fraud-prone, raising concern he may not concede, following the example of his ideological ally, former US President Donald Trump.
The bold at the end of the article is my own emphasis as it reflects the extremist left’s worldview where every election question is now being attributed to Trump’s actions. Even though no one questions the Honduran election where Hillary “allegedly” had a hand in rigging, this election is at such a large disparity, I doubt Bolsonaro can or will challenge the results, but it is too early to tell.
Sadly, this is another of my 2022 predictions coming true. Which means I have just 2 more months for some of the other, more dire predictions to be validated. From the JohnGaltFla’s Drunken 2022 Predictions thread of December 31, 2022:
– Latin America elections in 2022 result in a “red” wave; not like the American GOP red, but a Marxist revolution leaving very few nations without an outright communist government and hard core socialist leadership at a minimum. US influence in the region wanes dramatically as the traditional allies view America as a country in decline.
Brazil was the last domino.
America is led by a senile corrupt octogenarian with no moral center or ethics while corrupt bureaucrats take pay to play to a new level, up to and including the risk of global nuclear war.
Good luck world, you’re going to need it if my winning streak continues.
