Every now and then both political parties reveal the absurdity of their policies or shall we say abject failure of their policies.
Proof in the pudding?
I asked one of the AI engines how many calories are in the following meal:
1 6 oz piece of chicken
1 piece of broccoli
1 corn tortilla
It can vary depending on toppings, oils, etc., but that’s roughly 430 calories.
Why is this important?
Let’s go back to this author’s favorite historical reference, the late 1970’s and the stupidity we witnessed as a society during that time. From October 24, 1978 and one of many anti-inflation speeches of that decade made by political leaders:
Of course the illogical approach taken by the Democrats of that era is that cutting taxes might actually increase inflation was one of the most absurd approaches tried by a President. But alas, that was not all.
The consumerism speech was not aimed at changing American lifestyles by no longer following the lead of those who can afford to over indulge in consumerism. It was a warning from someone whose party lead a faux moralist crusade that believed that government should eventually control all spending, be it government, corporate, or individual.
President Carter also highlighted minimalism, a concept which has little impact on the upper 10% of the population but impacts the lowest 70% of American society the most:
Why is this relevant today?
The financial media in a last ditch effort to pump up markets is ignoring a full 2/3rds of American society. Oh there will be token appearances by guests who speak to this matter but they are quickly dismissed as malcontents with comments like “but look at the AI stocks” or “look how great the Dow Jones Industrial Average is doing.”
Am I comparing President Trump to James Earl Carter? Oh hell no, but he’s on the glide path to becoming a far more terrifying merger of some of the worst Presidents in American history.
This statement by Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins today might just highlight the propaganda insanity coming out of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue for many months now:
Brooke Rollins: "We've run over 1,000 simulations. It can cost around $3 a meal for a piece of chicken, a piece of broccoli, corn tortilla, and one other thing. So there is a way to do this that actually will save the average American consumer money." pic.twitter.com/hL7TTz7PRk

Most individuals on social media do not remember the “sweater speech” nor the implications for American society at that moment. It was a damning statement about Washington, DC, the corruption of both political parties, and the stupidity of President Carter and his advisers.
Notice that once again, instead of real solutions the political elites ask that the American people enjoy a thermostat at 55 degrees in the dead of winter to save energy during that era. Wear a sweater he said, let’s save America and never blame bad political and economic decisions because we abandoned the gold standard and embedded what seemed like permanently inflationary policies into our society.
Is Brooke Rollins “chicken, broccoli, and a tortillas” statement the same as the sweater speech?
I say yes.
Ignore the propaganda coming from the White House then and now.
YOU the people are once again being asked to make sacrifices for THEIR political and economic mistakes, once again.
Of course a mirror might help for many after all. It seems most Americans prefer the tribal selection process versus actually intelligently voting for quality leaders, consequences be damned.
