If any of my readers have been to a month long bar party where one goes to their favorite watering hole what seems like almost every night, eventually you wake up with a hangover. Thankfully, fewer Americans are drinking alcohol so the hangover might not be as severe.
Or will it?
Americans have adapted all of the bad habits and addictions of ancient Rome. Substance abuse, lascivious behavior, addiction to the electronic gods, gambling on anything, and of course a blind trust that the people who are running this nation have a clue as to what the hell they are doing.
Weirdly enough, just like America in the 1920s.
I’m not about to say I do not have any bad habits, hell, I’m the poster child for enjoying some of less than optimal items one should be consuming.
But this time it feels different. This is not like the 1920s where the blind belief in the new technocratic society would lead to a great future.
Speaking of the 1920’s, let’s get the apples to apples comparison out of the way before the chart crimes are posted on social media saying “this is it” and claims that those authors said they warned you for 20 years this was coming if you had just bought their seven books.
The chart below is of the Dow Jones Industrial Average monthly performance from the first quarter through the third quarter by month.

Fascinating, right?
It’s probably nothing but just remember one thing even if your hangover is pounding your head without mercy:
Eventually the bar hits closing time and the tab has to be paid in full.
Is October the beginning of closing time or not?
Time will tell, but be prepared for the taxpayers to be stuck with the bill no matter what.
