The story yesterday about Ukrainian forces executing captured Russian soldiers was bad enough, but if the reports originating from pro-Russian media are true, it is much worse than originally reported. The news was that the Ukrainians were taking the cell phones off of the Russians and then making video or Zoom calls to family members, be it their wives or mothers, and showing their husband or sons bleeding out while in shock. If this is true, Putin’s rage will be beyond anyone’s comprehension and he will plan on some very painful retribution against the Ukrainian military.
In fact, it appears that Zelensky all but confirmed the story with this announcement yesterday:
Which begs the question that if the Ukrainian military was not violating the Geneva convention by making what amounts to hostage videos of the captured Russian soldiers and the shootings of the Russians in the videos from yesterday, then why would Zelensky have to issue this “reminder” to his forces?
On to the updates and once again, much more will be relayed throughout the day via my Telegram channel.
21:00 UTC UPDATE:
Apparently the “peace in our time” memo hasn’t reached Kiev yet, from the English version of the Russian news service TASS:
Projectile hits garrison in Western Russia, four servicemen injured
And now the TASS.ru version with translation via Google:
In the Belgorod region, four people were injured when a shell hit a military camp
It would appear that the Russian media is selling one thing to the West and the harsh reality to its own people.
Video of the attack which appears to have hit an ammunition storage area:

In other news via Reuters’ resident genius, Captain Obvious:
The latest map update from the French Ministry of Defense is almost unchanged from yesterday but as Russian forces withdraw from Northern Ukraine, look for many changes:
Meanwhile, it would appear that the Russian Navy is back in port and the Odessa feint failed to achieve its initial goals:
In other news, reason 187,103 that it sucks to be French:
I guess that the power outages won’t matter since showering in cold water once a week is the standard.
That’s all the news tonight, so stay tuned for the update at some point between the 1st and 2nd period of something much more important with a new thread later.
That’s between the 1st and 2nd period of the Carolina-Tampa hockey game, don’t hate me because we are Champa Bay.
The peace talks have begun and Western media is spinning the event like a Russian capitulation. However, Russian media has a much different version and is probably much more realistic:
A peace agreement between Russia and the Zelensky government is highly unlikely, and here’s why. This viewpoint is very prevalent in Russian society today. pic.twitter.com/N88G6eapUA

Needless to say, Senile Joe doubled down yesterday and decided to make relations between Russia and the United States worse, if that’s even possible:
Biden doubles down on Putin comments\
Excerpt:
US President Joe Biden on Monday stood by his claim that Russian President Vladimir Putin should not remain in power, but insisted it was his expression of moral outrage over the conflict in Ukraine and not a policy change, and that nobody was supposed to take it seriously.
Biden unveiled his 2023 budget proposal at the White House on Monday, but the press corps was far more interested in the remarks he made during last week’s trip to Poland – including when he said about Putin, “For God’s sake, this man cannot remain in power,” a remark widely interpreted as calling for regime change in Moscow.
“I’m not walking anything back,” Biden said when asked about it on Monday. “I want to make it clear: I was not then, nor am I now, articulating a policy change. I was expressing moral outrage that I feel, and I make no apologies for it.”
That will help the “peace” effort or just maybe not as it sounds more like Biden is begging for a world war. Of course these statements from above were off script again as he had a cheat sheet and still butchered it:
In the battles ongoing today, Russian forces are now targeting any Ukrainian government facility:

Probably a smart move considering that the Ukrainians have been hiding their military command and control everywhere throughout the country.
Mariupol still has some battles ongoing in the center of the city as the Ukrainian forces refuse to surrender:

The Russian logistics forces have horrid OPSEC, as this video demonstrates:
