It’s All Falling Apart: Mozambique Edition

The problems in another African nation are sadly not only predictable, but on schedule as another corrupted national election appears to have taken place. The stories started filtering out about two weeks ago:

Naturally, events began to spiral out of control in the past several days:

Then the government began cracking down, as the protests became more violent.

And now the opposition today is calling for another nationwide strike and shutdown of the country.

It’s sort of normal however when former communists seize a nation, run it into the ground, sell off their resources then suddenly wonder why there are protests against the election results. Perhaps the United States should take note of this problem also.

Or perhaps there are foreign actors stirring things up there as a massive natural gas field was recently discovered.
