The news tonight is darker than I could ever imagine:
It started today just a few hours earlier like this (From NBC News of all places):
Fury and disgust at CIA, Pentagon, in Congress that thousands of Afghans will be left behind
People are furious and disgusted,” said a former U.S. intelligence official who declined to be quoted by name. A defense official said he grew nauseated as he considered how many Afghan allies would be left behind.
Weird. The same people who thought that overturning a US election by whatever means are necessary are upset by this. But I digress, as it got worse as the news developed today (from the not so right-wing BBC):
Evacuations ‘on pace’ to end 31 August, says Biden
Another infuriating excerpt:
“The Taliban have been taking steps to help get our people out,” Biden says, adding that the international community will judge the Taliban by their actions.
“None of us are going to take the Taliban’s word for it,” he says, referring to terror threats emanating from the region.
So in one sentence, we’re praising the Taliban for helping us but in another we are not trusting them. Got it.
What a moron.
The worst part about it is that numerous reports online state that the Taliban have now closed all roads and access to the Kabul airport. But idiot Joe believes they will be “judged by their actions” despite the fact he’s lying every time he speaks also.
But wait, of course, it gets worse (via the UK Guardian):
UK evacuation from Kabul to end within ‘24 to 36 hours’, defence sources say
A disgusting excerpt shows just how bad the situation has become:
“UK-US relations are about to enter their lowest point since Suez,” one senior MP said. “The special relationship is very, very damaged.” Another said: “We have always pretended there’s a special relationship with the US and Washington has always let us.” A minister added: “Biden’s America seems to have chosen to back off just when it was obvious only they could step up.”
America is now alone in the world despite our “treaties” and so-called alliances abroad; and I mean truly alone. Our allies have seen our betrayal and now, despite the assurances of a senile idiot, our people and forces in Iraq and Syria are in dire danger. Plus our allies are now shopping for new alliances to defend their countries after watching what we Biden has done in the last 6 months.
The world just went dark and the nightmare has begun.
[…] United States has pretty much started the disintegration of its alliances in Europe and the Middle East with the cowardly retreat from Afghani…. In an era where many thought the United States would “build back better” it’s […]
