The Iran-US War Causes Layoffs in Florida

While certain types might accuse this author of being a pro-Democrat plant cheerleading every stupid decision by President Trump and laughing at the consequences, sadly that’s not the truth. The sad reality is that many people, both of the cult, the left, and independents took President Trump at his word when he promised to extract the United States from foreign entanglements and focus on domestic prosperity.

Tragically, American soldiers have died, the US economy has been severely impaired, and the population domestically has suffered economically to stroke the ego of a man who presents himself as a two bit Generalissimo with little commitment to his promises and the economic security of the people he swore to protect.

This brings us to the indirect consequences of the Iran War President Trump and Israel started without totally committing to unlimited warfare and total victory to vanquish the Iranian regime before it could impact the global and US economy. Yesterday the unnecessary war of ego came home to roost in Florida as the State of Florida received a WARN (Workers Adjustment and Retraining Notification) from one of the largest phosphate manufacturers in the world:

But the media, outside of financial sources and geeks like us who watch the impact of sulfuric acid shortages on copper and other metals production, has largely ignored this. To make matters worse, read the highlighted last sentence one more time:

“we believe this idle will exceed six months”

In other words the war and it’s impacts will not over on November 4, 2026; or December 26, 2026; or January 2, 2027.

Now take a deep breath and think about all of the other derivatives from oil and the lost production from the Middle East and ask oneself:

Is a stagflationary recession or even depression possible?

The era of high prices, slowing growth, higher unemployment, and shortages continues to accelerate, a very toxic mix economically and politically.
